There are two trophies.
In 1992 one was presented to the Ashburton Bridge Club by Elly and Aad Kops, The Hague of Holland. Mrs Kops is a sister Martin de Jong, a member of the Ashburton Bridge Club. The second was presented by their club in The Hague, the Schravenhege Bridge School.
First awarded in 1992, for the Opening night.
In 2005 the Trophy became a two round event, combining the Closing night, and the following year’s Opening night.
